I agree with Jeffrey. There is no harm to post on low PR pages or to be linked on low PR pages, but the main constraint is quality content. Fresh & quality content has more chances to gain rapid PR.

Directories are a good way to get backlinks. One problem is some go down after awhile so links from them can come and go. Same goes for page rank you never know what they will have but you might get suprised and get ranked well. The cost is low and the fact your not spending hours submiting site makes it worth it. Thank you for the heads up… it’s always preferable using a company that is being recommended over those that pops up in the sponsored searches… and besides… looking up a SEO company’s reviews could be tricky… for the simple fact that the abundance of seemingly excellent reviews could have been the results of their own work

I have been working with SEO for almost 10 years and have been using several tools when linkbuilding for both my company and my customers.

I recommend all of you to take a look at “Fast Blogfinder” a tool that makes you able to not only get the PR for the domain, but also for the actual page, sort by niches and a lot more.

For Directory submitting I am currently testing the “Fast Directory Submitter” from the same vendor.

After reading this blog I think I also have to take a look at some other services as well.

I am a big fan of ResellerGo for directory submissions, it is a semi-automated solution but I can whip out 10 directories in about 30 seconds using them (and it costs $4 for unlimited use). Database has about 4.5k directories in it.
