Yes, Comment Luv is a great tool to help promote your blog. Not only does it encourage others to visit and comment on your own site, but it also helps to build back links. Another great tool to create back links to your site is Ezine articles. It's free, easy, and will draw others to your site to read valuable content.

Thanks for this post. I just started using CommentLuv a couple of weeks ago after reading another really good post about it. I think that a lot more bloggers would be using this plugin if they realized the enormous benefits it can build up over time. It's also a great way of forming some alliances with other like-minded bloggers that will be mutually beneficial and can even turn into guest author and JV situations.
It seems to me that the early days of mandatory 'do-follow' and the allowance of relative links within posts have been entirely killed off thanks to the persistant practices of scummy spammers. Commentluv and Linklove are now opening up those opportunities again to genuine and sincere bloogers that care about the overall scene and community.

Cheer,.. Russ

I use a combination of CommentLuv and Lucia's Link Plugin. I just installed it today to try it out since it seems I have nothing to lose and a lot to gain.

I have the commentluv plugin on my main blog, it's great for encouraging visitors, particularly bloggers to come and comment on your site.

Very nice plug-in. Every blog should have this installed and enabled by default; it would allow much better traffic exchange between websites! And the developer should definitely consider expanding the compatibility to other CMS.

I find CommentLuv great. It does attract a few spammers but so do most things on the web. I would recommend it for increasing traffic to a blog, or other site that changes a lot. If visitors fet free backlinks for commenting, they are more inclined to come back, read and comment.

It is indeed interesting to watch as the dofollow/nofollow debate continues, especially in light of Matt Cutts recent statements about PR sculpting.
