The Ultimate List of CommentLuv blogs…
In a previous post, we had a guest post about how valuable CommentLuv was as a plugin on other people’s Wordpress blogs. We also showed you how to find CommentLuv blogs.
Well, a frequent reader of this blog, on his own blog, wrote A List of 100 Blogs With The CommentLuv Plugin.
This is a fantastic list for 3 reasons:
1) It allows others to find some great blogs to comment on and get some great link love back to internal pages on their site.
2) This guy is going to get TONS of backlinks to his own blog, especially this internal page, from posts just like this one, linking to his awesome list. THIS is the way to get a great bunch of natural backlinks. Create something people want to link to!
3) The list is only part 1 of 3… he has more parts coming… craziness!
For a brief overview of what CommentLuv is, it is a plugin for Wordpress that will check a commenter’s blog’s feed, and post the most recent post at the bottom of the comment, giving the commenter a great internal backlink to their site!
Enjoy this list!

Is Dofollow enabled with CommentLuv by default, or does commentluv only give you a backlink if your commenting on a dofollow dite?

I think, but I’m not sure, that the follow/no-follow is determined by Wordpress, which is off by default. You would need to also add the Do-Follow plugin to change the default.
Carla’s last blog post..I Think I’m Breaking Netvibes
That is a nice list! Thanks for sharing.
I’m going to check out the CommentLuv plugin for my personal blog. Never saw it before, so it should be interesting.
As far as dofollow goes, Lucia’s LinkLove plugin is great in that you don’t get dofollow on your comment just for commenting once. You can set it for 3 to 10 comments. It tends to stop spammers.
The CommentLuv plugin says it makes links dofollow by default, but it didn’t to my blog. I still had to have another plugin for that.
Stephan Miller’s last blog post..Link Love for CommentLuv Blogs Part 1 of 3
When I installed it, it was do-follow out of the box, but I think that is because I had the “dofollow” plugin installed.
Lucia’s LinkLove is a great plugin… I am choosing not to use it because I haven’t had a spam issue, and I figure if people aren’t wanting to come back and comment more in the future, then it’s my poor writing and lack of good tips… so my assumption is that people will keep returning…
And, I want to give people as many link building opportunities as possible!
Does this hard code the link, so the link stays the same forever, or each time the page is loaded, does it go check the feeds of each of the commenters and get the latest post title?
It would be much more valuable if it was the former, not the latter
It is a hardcoded link…. and so yes, it is valuable…. whatever your rss feed tells commentluv at the time of the post, will be the post it shows in the Commentluv section until the end of time (or the blog at least)
The new CommentLuv, which is in alpha stages right now as of writing this, uses AJAX and actually displays to the commenter their last 5 blog posts, and allows them to choose which one will be displayed, still hardcoded….. so, a very nice feature to be expecting to hit the blog community soon!
As per my knowledge I have heard about this many times. Not sure about operation but can be edited. Even nofollow will be removed after 10 posting
Regards
Selena
I luv the idea of commentluv because it gives people who spend the time to write honest comments to get a little something more out of their efforts. Great post… I may install commentluv plugin on my blog soon.

This is a great list of blogs. I’m may install it on my blog covering online marketing and SEO.
I’m not clear based on the comments above - in order for CommentLuv to have doallow links do I also need a separate plugin to make that happen?

Yah, if you have the dofollow plugin installed, then it should make commentluv dofollow

Many thanks for this guide, I am new to all of this and wish you all the best of luck with your ventures. All I need now is to be able to install Wordpress with a degree of success InstallFree consider my blog to me commercial!!! (surely the description of that would be one that actually makes money ;))
with every one talking about comment luv, is it really as valuable as it sounds.
What is the effect if you don’t have a blog or rss feed, will you still get a link to your site? Or what any one care to enlighten me?
Yes, it is extremely valuable, but you must have an rss feed.
The effect is that it gives you deep links to your site. Yah, you should build a lot of links to your main pages, but building links to your internal pages is important too. It really has a nice longer term benefit, for helping you to rank for other keywords and to boost your site’s authority (all good things).
It’s pretty easy to install wordpress. Get a host that has cpanel and fantastico, and it’s a few small forms to fill out and a few clicks, and it’s all installed.
Awesome…. glad you found the Link Building Bible….. feel free to subscribe.
Thanks for bringing this plug-in to my attention. Definitely, it is worth of finding blogs with this plug-in installed.
I have found that the commentluv plugin kicks ass along with keywodluv, especially when your most resent post title is loaded with keywords.
