Another nice tool for link building that I have been working on is: <a href="http://www.followtopia.com">Followtopia</a> You get search results with information on whether or not the results have the nofollow tag. It makes it very quick to find do follow sites with relevant content. Let me know if you like it. It looks like the Free Backlinks generator site is down. (account disabled). The name is misleading because it doesn't actually GENERATE backlinks. These backlinks have already existed, what you're doing is creating a nice, little list of them, and posting them somewhere on the web. That way, you're building backlinks to the pages that have links to you. As Jon C. said, the pages probably aren't indexed. But with links pointing to them, they have a better chance of being indexed, and therefore counting as a backlink for you. It's not just creating links out of nowhere.
